Thank you for your interest in our company.
Whether you’re looking for help with your taxes or considering joining our team, I wanted to share a little about how this company started and why we believe we’re building something special.
I’ve been in the tax remediation industry since 2014, originally in a marketing role. Over the years I worked my way from Digital Marketing Manager to Chief Marketing Officer and eventually Vice President at one of the largest tax remediation companies in the United States.
To be effective in my role, I spent years studying our clients, their problems, and the companies competing for their business.
What I discovered was troubling.
The tax remediation industry has a poor reputation, and unfortunately much of it is deserved. Clients are often over-promised results, only to be underserved and overcharged. Many companies treat tax resolution as a high-pressure sales business rather than a professional service built on trust.
Even worse, I realized the company I worked for was no different. In fact, in many ways we were part of the problem. The culture was driven by profit above all else, the work environment was unhealthy, and by most measures our clients came last.
At some point I started asking myself a different question.
What if this industry worked differently?
What if we approached tax remediation ethically, efficiently, and transparently? What if we educated clients on what was truly possible and represented them honestly? What if we built a company focused on solving the entire problem instead of simply selling services?
If we could do that, I realized something important.
We wouldn’t just build a better tax resolution firm.
We could build the best tax company, period.
Eventually I decided it was time to take the leap.
On October 1, 2021, I resigned and partnered with Satyam Mehta, the best tax attorney I know, to build a different kind of company. Our goal was simple: help people resolve their tax problems and then serve as their trusted tax partner for years to come.
In other words, we wanted to create a company that truly lived up to a simple mission:
Because taxes will probably never be fun. But they also shouldn’t be confusing, overwhelming, or something people feel afraid to deal with.
Most of our clients come to us with years of unfiled returns and serious tax issues. They’re often stressed, embarrassed, and unsure who they can trust to help them fix the situation.
Our job is to change that.
First, we fix the problem.
Then we help our clients become compliant.
Then we stay with them as their tax partner for the future.
That’s how we build lasting relationships. And that’s how we build the company we set out to create:
So far, what we’ve learned is that building a great company comes down to one thing above all else.
In any service business, your greatest asset is the people doing the work.
We started in November 2021 in a co-working space with three rented desks. Today we have nearly 120 team members and we’re still growing.
Growth always brings challenges, but the single biggest reason we’ve been successful so far is the quality of our people.
We look for people who care deeply about doing the work the right way. People who communicate clearly. People who take ownership of outcomes. And people who genuinely want to help clients solve difficult problems.
This isn’t the right job for everyone.
But for the people who share our values, it can be an incredibly rewarding place to build a career and do meaningful work.
We’re still early in this journey. There’s a lot more to build, a lot more people to help, and a lot more improvements we want to make to the way taxes are handled in this country.
It’s exciting. It’s challenging. And we believe it’s worth it.
If you’re looking for honest help with your taxes, we’d be honored to help.
And if you’re someone who wants to do meaningful work and help transform an industry that desperately needs it, we’d love to hear from you.
Thanks again for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
John Oh
