Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about your TaxQuotes experience.

The Consultation

Is it really free?

Yes! The initial consultation with us is absolutely free.

What happens during the consultation?

If you’ve filled out our tax relief survey, you’ll receive a call within a day or two from one of our tax advisors, who will walk you through some brief questions to determine if you’re a good fit for any of the IRS tax relief programs.

Do I need all my financial paperwork in front of me?

Nope. If you have copies of any IRS letters you’ve received, please bring them, but actual documents are not required at this stage.

How long will this take?

Plan on spending about 15 minutes on the phone with your tax advisor.

What happens after the consultation?

If we determine that you are a good fit for any of the IRS tax relief programs, we’ll explain what we need from you to get the tax investigation started. The investigation usually takes two to three weeks. Once we finish the investigation, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment with you to discuss the results and our recommendation for moving forward.

Pricing & Fees

How much will this cost?

If you talk to any tax pro worth their salt, they’ll give you this answer: It depends. It’s nearly impossible to tell you ahead of time exactly how much it’ll cost to resolve your tax issue because we won’t know until we dig into your case and get all the details. But rest assured, we’ll always be up front with you about how much it’s going to cost before we start the resolution process.

What are my payment options?

We understand that finances are a concern for many of our clients, so we offer reasonable, no-interest payment plans for our services.

Why should I pay you when I could just pay the IRS?

When you hire us, you’re paying for our tax attorneys’ years of experience and knowledge in dealing with IRS issues.

Approaching the IRS on your own is like representing yourself in court without a lawyer — you may not know what’s possible in your case. Wouldn’t it be nice to know all of your options before you pay?

What We Do

What can you do for my tax debt?

If anyone promises they can qualify you for a specific program or save you a certain amount of money up front, they’re lying. It’s impossible to know what we can do for you until we complete an investigation into your tax issue.

Can you guarantee my results?

No one can guarantee that they’ll be able to secure a specific type of resolution — ultimately, the IRS makes those decisions.

However, our tax attorneys know how the IRS works and which arguments and strategies work best to argue your case, so you can trust that the resolution we offer you will be the best you can get.

I owe state taxes — can you help me?

Typically, we don’t handle cases with only state tax issues because state tax authorities generally don’t negotiate on your debt.

However, if you owe both federal and state tax debt, we are able to assist you in setting up a payment plan with your state as part of your resolution.

Can you file my taxes for me?

Absolutely. Our goal is to get you back in compliance with the IRS, and a big part of that is making sure you’re current on your tax filings.

About TaxQuotes

Where are you based?

Our headquarters are in Irvine, California, but our clients are all over the U.S.

What qualifications do you have?

We only hire tax attorneys, CPAs and enrolled agents (EAs) who meet our rigorous standards. Our tax professionals have spent years in tax resolution, so you can trust that their advice is grounded in their experience negotiating with the IRS.

I've been scammed by other tax relief companies. How are you different?

We’ll be honest — there are a lot of scammers out there who overpromise and underdeliver, and that just leads to a bad experience for everyone.

We will always be honest about what we can — and can’t — do for you, and we’ll always be up front about how much we charge.
